What is a "Brand Messaging Framework"?

Do you have a brand messaging framework?

I use them all the time in my work as a consultant. After the main strategy is done it is one of the key next steps to build further alignment before a brand moves into execution and go to market strategies.

What is a "Brand Messaging Framework"?
A structured system which explains what problem we solve, what we say, why we’re different and credible and our value proposition.

Why does a brand need one?
- Clarity – Turns complex strategy into simple, usable messages
- Consistency – Ensures everyone tells the same story, everywhere
- Confidence – Equips teams to communicate value clearly and persuasively
- Differentiation – Moves us beyond generic claims to a distinct position
- Commercial impact – Improves tenders, sales conversations, and campaigns

What goes into one of these will differ from company to company, as markets, contexts and team needs will change but mostly I find the value is to link the way the brand is going to speak and what it says to the overriding Big Brand Idea and Brand positioning from the brand strategy. Super helpful to get commercial teams all pulling in the same direction.

So. Have you got one of these in your company?
