One Page Strategy Map

 I used to struggle to get my team aligned on strategy.

Then I realized something simple: The longer the document, the less likely anyone actually uses it.

So I created a one-page strategy map. And it changed everything.

Feel free to steal it.
hashtagPurpose
Why do you exist?
Keep it clear, benefit-driven, and under 15 words.
If people can’t remember it, they won’t act on it.

hashtagVision (3–5 years)
Make it specific, not inspirational fluff:
• Pick a date
• Define your customer
• Set one bold, measurable outcome
• Choose one word for how people should feel

hashtagAdvantage
What sets you apart and keeps you ahead?
Ask yourself: what do we do 10x better than others?
Your edge could be: price, speed, brand, proprietary tech, or network.

hashtagExecution (90 days)
This is where most strategies fail.
Turn it into action:
• Define 3 key moves (start with a verb)
• Assign one owner and one deadline each
• Remove one blocker every week
• Track progress: Green / Yellow / Red

hashtagMetrics
Measure what actually matters:
• Growth (users, revenue)
• Money (runway, margins)
• Customer (delivery, churn)
• Love (NPS, referrals)
Use a simple rule:
Green = stay the course
Yellow = discuss
Red = fix within 48 hours

Key takeaway:
Strategy doesn’t fail because it’s wrong. It fails because nobody remembers it.

One page fixes that.
